A recent study has proved that most pharmaceutical organizations are now shifting their focus to IT-Support functions to third party vendors. This has become the hottest trend in the industry followed by many experts.
In earlier days, it was only the IT Sector and customer service industry who adopted the outsourcing technique for the betterment of industrial functions.
The scenario has gone through a great transformation now. With the globalization of pharmaceutical companies, marketing & sales organizations can be enabled or disabled by IT support services.
About 50% of the respondents related to pharmaceutical industries claimed that they outsource helpdesk operations.
A global services report states that the staffing cost per IT full-time equivalent (FTE) ranges from less the $10, 000 to over $45, 000. The main factors responsible for the staffing cost are the level of outsourcing & number of FTEs.
It is also proved that around 40% of pharmaceutical companies utilize a hybrid model that successfully accomplishes the task of maintaining balance between outsourced and internal operations.
